Mental health counselors provide therapeutic counseling to couples, groups and individuals to complement medical services in treating the whole patient. Many clients face multiple challenges, including coping with the reactions of others, developing and adopting strategies for maintaining physical and emotional health, initiating changes in behavior to prevent HIV transmission to others, and reducing the risk of acquiring additional STDs. Therefore, mental health counselors are an integral part of health care for HIV-infected persons. Various types of counseling and therapy are provided by our staff or via a referral source. This includes counseling and psychiatric care.
